“Headache with Pictures” is a small, but usefull plugin for your dashboard: It offers an area to quickly write down things you’ve got on your mind. This can be things to blog about or your shopping list. (The title is an allusion to Futurama.)

If you blog with multiple persons, you can leave a message for the others. In the plugin file, you can determine, what capabilities a user must have to read the notes, and what capabilities he must have to write/modify them. By default, Authors and higher can write, and every registered user can read.

The idea for this plugin came from tboggi on the German WP forums. To use it, download it, unpack it, put it in your plugin directory, activate it. Then go to your dashboard page and enjoy.

    Cool idea, I’m downloading it to take a look. I’ve been thinking of installing bbpress or something for forums, and then show RSS entries of a particular admin/private subforum for such communication. But maybe this will be easier. ;)

    When I use any abbreviations (like I’m) it adds a \ slash before the ‘. Any way to fix that?

    Great plugin! I love it. I use it in my single user blog simply for listing all my many plugins’ opcodes. You know, like for wp-polls, what’s the syntaxfor inserting a particular poll? Oh yeah, it’s [poll=id]. I love having the master list handy.

    I was using wp-dash dashboard replacement because it had a notes widget, but the widget was so tiny it really didn’t work that well. Yours is perfect!

    One question, where does headache put it’s data? I couldn’t find it anywhere in my database.

    The data is stored in the wp_options table as option cth_notes.

    wie wird denn das plugin eingebunden?
    ich habe in meiner admin-index-datei einiges gelöscht und dien plugin erscheint nicht, wenn ich es aktiviere.
    was muss ich also wiederd er indexdatei hinzufügen?

    Es müsste der folgende Schnipsel sein:
    <?php do_action('activity_box_end'); ?>

    Ansonsten kannst Du auch einfach die Plugin-Funktion aufrufen, die die Box erzeugt.

    Hi Alex!

    Bing gerade beim “Update Options” drücken in meinem WP irgendwie über google direkt auf dieser Seite gelandet. Nach 2x Ausloggen/Einloggen gehts jetzt wieder normal.

    Mich hats genauso gewundert!!!

    Habe es vorher übrigens ein paar mal probiert, Du wirsts ja in Deinen Referrern sehen.
    Tja da scheint google wohl in noch so ein paar anderen Dingen seine Hände drin zu haben ?-(

    Hast Du ein Firefox laufen mit bookmarklets a la del.icio.us ? Nur mal so ne Frage..
    Hast Du ne andere Erklärung? Ich hab ja sonst keine Paranoia, aber das kam mir doch sehr spanisch vor!!

    Ich hatte Dein Plugin übrigens nicht hochgeladen oder installiert, als das passiert ist! Nur dass nicht jemand denkt, dass Dein schönes Plugin verdreht ist. Ist es nicht! Bin erst durch diese plötzliche “Verlinkung” auf Deine Seite und Dein Plugin gestossen.

    Tja, ich habe nur auf Update Options unter Options/General gedrückt und schwups war ich bei Dir auf genau dieser Seite (”Notizzettel für die WP-Admin-Startseite”)! Zuvor habe ich ein paar bookmarklets in meinen Firefox rübergeschoben (keines davon jedoch ausgetestet) und drei Bookmarking-Erweiterungen installiert. Ansonsten nichts am Blog oder Browser verändert.

    Kleine Notizen in WordPress…

    Ich komme gar nicht mehr hinterher meine Theme weiter zu machen. Der Start steht zwar unmittelbar bevor, aber trotzdem finde ich gerade Heute viele Plugins die wirklich sehr nützlich sind!
    Bis jetzt habe ich überall noch Zettel mit Notizen zu Dingen …

    another thing, what do you use for plugin to get the field and buttons “bold, italic, link, code etc…” above the message and below the Kommentar ?

    have been searching for a plugin like that, but cant find anyone, hmm
    some themes give be code, link, bold etc... but without buttons…
