Advanced Search 2.0 (really!)

Unbelievable – it took more than one year from version 0.1 to the 1.0, which we released yesterday. But I have dedicated the last 24 hours to proceed coding on the Advanced Search, and so much has been changed that a jump to 2.0 seems justified – even if only a single day has passed since the last major release.
What exactly has been changed? Well, I was working on the upgrade of Advanced Search Lite which was actually a quick’n'dirty ripoff from Advanced Search. I started again to rip the code from the new AS to make the new AS Lite, when I realised I could as well merge them and have two plugins in one. For me this would mean less duplicate code to care after, for the user it means that they have more choice along with a slimer code base.
And so I merged Advanced Search and Advanced Search into one plugin download. They appear in the Plugin panel as two separate plugins. One can use either one or the other or even both at the same time. Also, there were even more features added: Blog visitors can now switch between searching strings or words(!), WP’s internal search can be transparently replaced with the FULLTEXT (i.e. word) search, and Advanced Search Lite can now also be used as a widget.
What do you think, is a 2.0 ok for this? I definitely think so, and I even dare to say that this is the bestest search plugin for WordPress evar, which everybody should have on their blogs. You heard me!

Hi Alex, danke für deine Info zum Update.
Leider ein kleiner Fehlerbericht, kann es sein, dass es irgendwelche Variablen aus dem Core überschreibt!?
Folgendes, WP-2.3.1 nur das Lite aktiviert. An anderer Stelle (Footer) das Widget Recent Posts, dort ist die Anzahl auf 5 eingestellt. Im Blog steht Anzahl Beiträge auf Seiten 10. Also, ich such was was häufig vorkommt, also mehr als 5 Suchergebnisse. Nun erscheinen unter Recent Posts genau die Suchergebnisse!!! Genau die Reihenfolge und Anzahl.
Ich hoffe ich habs genau genug beschrieben. Anschauen: ohorn.info

Wenn Du AS_UNIVERSAL aktiviert hast, dann wird
$_GET['s']überschrieben, d.h.$_GET['s']wird immer eine Suchanfrage über Advanced Search auslösen. Wenn das andere Plugin diesen Parameter auch benutzt, dann ist es gut möglich, dass es zu einer Interferenz kommt.Olaf on November 15, 2007 at 18:50 #
Dank fürs kümmern. Ich hab gar nix aktiviert. Nur das Plugin selbst. Das ist das WIDGET, also kein Plugin. Ich denk auch das ich damit leben kann. Wenn dir aber noch was einfallen würde…
Oder überseh ich was, gibts auch ne Konfig für nur Lite, oder muss ich das andere auch aktivieren, man will ja sparen
Ach noch was, wenn du das JS+CSS konfigurierbar machen kannst, wozu ist das JS überhaupt. Hab mir beides auskommentiert. Wenn ich das richtig sehe braucht doch nur das Große das JS, oder?

Was meinst du mit Widget, das AS-Lite-Widget, oder ein anderes Widget?
Die Konfigurationen für Lite und normal sind in derselben Datei. Es reicht aber, eines der beiden zu aktivieren.
Die JS-Datei wird auch vom kleinen benötigt.
