How cool is that! Jim from The Kaizen Business has created a screencast of a WordPress upgrade with the InstantUpgrade plugin and posted it on YouTube. Enjoy! :)

    Hi there!

I’m having a little trouble unzipping InstantUpgrade. I’m actually getting an error message saying that it’s corrupted. Please help.

    Thanks

I used Instant Upgrade 1.0beta2 to upgrade from Wordpress 2.0.5. I found it via afrison’s site and followed his method: deactivated all other plugins before running upgrade.

The upgrade took over an hour. It’s just lucky I didn’t abort on the assumption it had hung. It might be a good idea to let people know it can take a lot longer than “a few minutes”!

The fact that it took a while is not a problem. Only that I thought it was supposed to take a few minutes!

Other than that, it worked exactly as advertised. Effortless, and everything seems to still be there on my blog. :D My plugins also seem to be working: (Akismet, Angsuman’s Feed Copyrighter, Anti-leech, Google Sitemaps, WP-ContactForm (except the contact form no longer asks the challenge question…).

Thanks for a great and essential plugin!
