InstantUpgrade und WP 2.2/2.3
Alex Günsche · May 11, 2007
WordPress 2.2 is soon to be released, and WordPress 2.3 also approaches. As functionality keeps on changing, I decided to test the InstantUpgrade-Plugin with the new versions. Result: works fine — with WP 2.2-RC1 as well as with WP 2.3-alpha (SVN Rev. 5451).
By the way, I finished moving, and I’m back at work with full power.

I just discovered InstantUpgrade, and wow, excellent job! That was the most painless upgrade I’ve ever done. Thanks!

I got a problem when changing CHMOD (files and folders permissions); right after I did change every files and folders’ CHMOD (right before I started to upgrade) I have taken a look at my blog: it was not there anymore!! Why is that? Is it a normal step in the upgrade process? Instantupgrade would have correct the error after finishing the upgrade?
For my part, I have changed back the chmod to get my blog working… and did the upgrade.. It went smooth… but now there are features missing when I write a post?
What do you think?

Usually, that shouldn’t happen. It might be that your vHost has too few memory and ran out of it during the upgrade. If you still have errors, please do the upgrade again as per the official instructions.

That’s what I tried.. a classic 2.2 installation but unfortunately, once I had done the transfer with FTP, the upgrade.php didnt want to upgrade because he saw I already had 2.2…
I dont know what to do.. really.. i wanted to try a downgrade but i have no idea of how to do it!

Sylvain, you cannot downgrade your blog. The InstantUpgrade plugin refuses to do this, and if you did it manually, you might have wrecked your blog.

Do you how I can force the upgrade?
Sylvain on June 8, 2007 at 20:53 #
no, i did not try to downgrade… not yet. I did a reinstall of 2.2 with no success..
